However it islearned from the probate records of Floyd County, Georgia that when heleft for Texas, he left behind a modest estate which must haveincluded some debts. His brother Leander M. Cobb was appointed theadministrator of Andrew's estate, and in 1859 was paid Andrew'sinheritence from the estate of their grandfather John S. Cobb. It isassumed that Leander used this money to settle Andrew's accounts.

He was brought to New York by relatives andlived there until he was 14 or 15, when he left home and headed South.As far as can be determined, Pat and Eliza Jane had two sons, Jamesand John. John's fate is as yet unknown. James later came intoIndian Territory. He settled in Sallisaw and becamea Justice of thePeace for many years, acquiring the nickname 'Judge'.
