[NOTE: There appears to be confusion among researchers regarding thisand the next generation of the Randolph family. First, it isgenerally accepted that Richard Randolph married Jane Bolling in 1714.A son Richard (who married one Anne Meade) was born that year. However, another son Richard (who also married an Anne Meade) was thenborn in 1730. Further, Richard Randolph is generally accepted ashaving died in 1748, yet at least one child (son John) was born in1750 (we do not have the birthdates for daughters Jane and Elizabeth). Finally, there is a noticeable aspect concerning the birthdates of allthe children taken on the whole. Of the known five birthdates of theRandolph children, three occured within a single five-year span,1727-1732, when both parents were definitely past mid-life.Considering the epidemic repetition of first names within both theRandolph and Bolling families, pending further research it seems quiteapparent that a number of researchers have actually 'merged' twogenerations into one, both headed by the marriage of a RichardRandolph to a Jane Bolling.]

Born 1756, he was a veteran of the American Revolution from LincolnCounty, North Carolina. Married 1785, Lincoln County, where heremained until removing to Alabama, after 1800. One source creditshim as having served at New Orleans, during the War of 1812, as asubstitute for an un-named son. Daughter Polly married MadisonCounty, Alabama, in 1819. After his death, his widow and daughter'sfamily relocated to the Smith-DeKalb county area of Tennessee. Hiswidow eventually applied for a pension based on his military service, which states that he contracted a medical condition which ultimatelycontributed to his death.
[2311] In his household at that time were two males under sixteen years ofage, in addition to himself and his wife.
[2312] By that time he had apparently increased his family to include a thirdson and a daughter. He was listed as a buyer of items from hismother's estate, which occured sometime before 1805. However, by1810, he had left Lincoln County, supposedly for the AlabamaTerritory.

After the death of her father, her mother married William H. Cobb in1874. In 1877, the Fannin County court appointed Cobb her legalguardian. After her mother died in 1879, she remained under Cobb'sguardianship until she became of legal age.
On the 1880 census of Fannin County, she was listed as an eight yearold niece in the household of one L.E. Jackson and wife Fannie ofLadonia, Fannin County. It has been speculated that the Jackson'swere Woodward relatives. Conyer's presence in their household isunexplained. Fannin court records do show that after her mother diedthere apparently arose some discord over whether she should remain inCobb's care. The court ruled that she should, and Cobb continued tomake regular periodic reports to the court as to her welfare all theway up to January 1891, when he reported she had come of age.
It is noted that Conyer was not named or referred to in any way inCobb's Will filed in Fannin County in 1895. Her fate is unknownalthough it has been rumored that she ended up in California.
