Our gm Ressie lost a good friend, Rettie Ray Lindsay in 1907 -
this was abt the time that her father George died. I am not
sure when they left Belle Mina, AL - but believe it to be abt
1908 when they arrived in Shreveport, LA. Ressie lost Her
husband at age 53 in 1912, her oldest son George Woodson Lindsay
at age 23 in 1918 and we think we have it hard. She was a very
strong, courageous, faithful lady.
In the letter Jenny wrote in 1890 speaks of Sue's daughter, and
Buchannan Lindsay living in Belle Mina, Alabama. "Sue daughter
there, she has one sweet little girl and will soon have another,
she will be confined in next month. She married a man by the
name of Buckhannun Linsy he is very good and kind to her. They
have been married five years, she lives at Bellma near Limestone
county. They have not kept house yet they have always board,
she is very anxious at keep house but her husband says that he
rather board . If I was in her place I would not care for I
think that a woman with children has enough to do without having
to see after house affairs. She want to keep house on account
of me she wants to take care of me, she is one of the kindest
little things I ever saw. I love her like a sister, she is not
like niece, it seems like that she ought to be my sister".

LARRY (m) short form of LAURENCE. LAURENCE (m) "of Laurentum"
or "crowned with laurel" which both derive from Latin laurus
"laurel". Laurentum was a town in Italy. Saint Laurence was a
third century martyr.
