Aunt Jodie was a real southern belle. She had lovely and
charming ways. Some of her friends were very wealthy, like the
Barhams, who lived on Creswell Ave. Sick as she was, before she
would come out of her bedroom to greet anyone she would dress
and makeup carefully. No one ever saw her dejected or plain.
About 10 years later, the parents of a friend from my grade
school days at Creswell had purchased the house, and I had an
occasion to visit them with my cousin Hal. Unfortunately my
friends father committed suicide while living there. She had
turned out to be a beautiful girl.
