ABT 1756 - ____

ID Number: I68412

  • RESIDENCE: VA; NC; KY; Ralls Co. MO
  • BIRTH: ABT 1756, Virginia
  • RESOURCES: See: [S1990] [S2599]
Father: Peter RUCKER
Mother: Elizabeth TERRILL

Family 1 : Elijah CREED Sr.

Notes

"1776 Circa Mary Rucker married Elijah Creed, Sr. of North Carolina. They moved back and forth between Virginia and North Carolina, and their 4 known children were born either in Virginia or North Carolina. October 16, 1779, Elijah Creed petitioned for land in Boonsborough Virginia, later part of Madison County, Kentucky. 1788-1789 he paid taxes in Fayette County, Virginia, later Fayette County Kentucky. From 1790 to 1823/24 Elijah and mary lived at Clear Creek, Woodford County, Kentucky. At about that time their son Elijah Jr. and his parents moved fruther west. By 1827, they were in Ralls County, Missouri and homesteaded land there. Mary and Elijah's son Augustine migrated to Ralls County, Missouri in 1829. In September 1829 Elijah Creed Sr, Elijah Creed, Jr. and his daughter Sinthey died. A bill for quinine and a $27 doctor's bill in estate records may indicate that they died from malaria - a common disease. No record is found of Mary Rucker Creed's death, but she probably died in Missouri."

Margaret was then aged about twelve.
