John HARRISON

      John Harrison was born 1756 or 1758, son of John Footman Harrison.   John Harrison married Feb 18 1787, in Wake Co NC, Rosannah Peddy.   The marriage bond reads: John Harrison having applied for a license to wed Rosannah Peddy, same is hereby granted Feb 18 1787, Wake Co NC, and Reuben Hunter bonds himself in the amount of five hundred pounds as security. {signed} John Harrison, Reuben Hunter.   Children: (1) John (2) Henry (3) Nancy (4) Rachel (5) Mourning, married Mr. Atkins.     John Harrison died in 1829, this is infered from his will and the probate records. John Harrison's Will was probated in 1829 in Wake Co NC. The Will was written Feb 2 1829.   I give to my wife, Rosannah Harrison, my two mares to her forever.   Secondly: I give to my wife Rosannah Harrison during her natural life the following property, land and plantation whereon I now live, one Negro woman named Flora, one yoke of oxen and cart, the balance of sheep not otherwise hereinafter disposed of and after her death I give to my son John Harrison the above mentioned property.   Thirdly: I give to my son Henry Harrison and daughters Nancy and Rachel Harrison each of them one bed and furniture.   Fourthly: The residue of my estate not already disposed of I give to my wife Rosannah Harrison, my son John Harrison, and daughters Nancy and Rachel Harrison and daughter Mourning Atkins, to be divided equally among them.   I hereby make my son John Harrison and my friend Wesley Jones executors of this my last will and testament. Witness: Wesley Jones, Thomas West, Jordan Womble.
John Harrison, son of John and Rosannah Peddy Harrison, died in 1821 before his mother died, therefore he did not inherit the property left to his mother. John married Delilah Youngblood April 21 1806 in Wake Co NC.   John Harrison, III's will was probated April 7 1821 in Johnston Co NC. To beloved wife Deliah Harrison and sons Elisha, Zachariah, James and other sons when they arrive at the age of twenty one.  
Children of John and Deliah Youngblood Harrison: (1) James (2) Zachariah (3) Elisha (4) John R (5) other sons (6) daughters Elizabeth and Keren.

Jackson HARRISON

      Jackson HARRISON born 1818 married Mary Ann FERRER Jan 3 1849 in Stewart Co GA. (Mary Ann's sister married James C Peddy).   Jackson Harrison & Camillus FERRER witnessed the will of Parshiana COOK, that will was probated Sept 11 1849 in Stewart Co GA. Jackson Harrison is in the 1850 & 1860 Stewart Co GA census.       Jackson Harrison enlisted in a Georgia Infantry Division (probably Co F 64th GA) and fought in the Civil War. Jackson was killed at or near Richmond / Petersburg VA in July 1864. (This date is shown in the letters of Edmond Hardy Jones. Letters from Edmond Hardy Jones (that is posted on the Battle of Olustee Website.)     See the letter of July 31 1864 for mention of Jackson Harrison's death.       [Go to the Battle of Olustee Website.]       When James Peddy moved to Tennessee in the 1860's Mary Ferrer Harrison moved with her sister & brother in law, James C Peddy to Henderson Co TN (now Chester Co).   Jan 7 1869 in Henderson Co TN, James Peddy was appointed Guardian of Elizabeth, James, William & Nancy Harrison as Jackson Harrison was deceased.     That Mary A Ferrer Harrison & Nancy Ann Ferrer Peddy were sisters is confirmed by Hattie Lee BRAY ARNOLD CONE, born 1913 as she personally knew the children of these two sisters (also related). Mary Ferrer Harrison died about 1882 (tombstone broken) and she is buried in New Friendship Cemetery, Chester Co TN where descendants of Nancy Ann Ferrer Peddy are buried.

He lived in Conroe, Montgomery Co, TX.     Dewey K Herold was the son of Rudolph Rudyard Herold born Jan 17 1870 at Canton, Bern, Switzerland.   Dewey's mother was Emma Sophia Amelia Popp born Aug 1885 at Lenzburg, St Clair Co IL.   Rudolph Herold died March 26 1935 in Leon Co FL.   Emma Sophie Herold died Oct 10 1982 in Tallahassee, Leon Co, FL.
Rudolph Herold, son of John and Mary Herold, married Emma Sophie POPP on March 12 1907 at Belleville, St Clair Co, Illinois.     A child, Rudolph Rudyard Herold, Jr was born Feb 8 1908 at Miccosukee, Leon Co, FL. He lived at Ft Walton Beach, Okaloosa Co, FL and he died April 8 1970.

Mary died before 1824 in Franklin Co VA.   (6) Hannah Hill born March 25 1754 in Halifax Co VA died Aug 7 1829 in Rutherford Co TN.       Leah PEDDY born March 23 1785 in NC married about 1805 in Washington Co GA as per the book, "They Followed the Sun" by Lorena W Bush & Mary Cox.   Leah is probably the daughter of Thomas Peddy or Nehemiah PEDDY.   William & Leah Peddy Hite are in the 1850 Cape Girardeau Co MO census.   Leah Peddy Hite is buried in the Ringwald Cemetery near the Salem Evangelical Church near Cape Girardeau MO. Leah died June 1854, age 69 years 3 months.

BIBLE       JESSE HODGES born Feb 11 1754 Halifax Co VA died March 18 1842 in McNairy Co TN. He married Oct 18 1775 in Pittslyvania Co VA Elizabeth Collins born Aug 28 1760 in VA. She died Jan 6 1842 in McNairy Co TN.     Children:
(1) James C Hodges born Oct 17 1776 Pittsylvania Co VA married a daughter of James Wilson, Sumner Co TN. James was a Major in the War of 1812. James drowned in the Cumberland River Sept 8 1812.
(2) William C Hodges born Sept 22 1778 Pittsylvania Co VA. He lived in Wilson and Mcnairy Co TN. He married Rebecca Calaway

She was born April 25 1785 and died Oct 10 1837 in Henderson Co TN.   A son was William T Hodges born Dec 18 1816 in Wilson Co TN. He died prior to 1870 in Smith Co TX. William married March 26 1839 in Wilson Co TN, Harriet Shackleford born 1816 -1820. She died prior to 1865. See DAR 722796.       Another son of Josiah & Mary Wilson Hodges was Harmon K Hodges born July 5 1822. He died Oct 27 1873 at Whitesboro TX. (10) Elijah Hodges born Feb 11 1796 VA married Hanna Hubbard in 1824 in Wilson Co TN. He died Sept 15 1835.

(12) Elizabeth Hodges born April 21 1799 May 14 1801 in Wilson Co TN.   She married 1st Thos Hodges Feb 20 1820 and also John Ward.
(13) Harvy Hodges bortn Sept 18 1803 Wilson Co TN.

      During the Revolutionary War Jesse Hodges lived in Pittsylvania Co VA.       - Andrew Peddy, born 1757 VA, Revolutionary War Veteran in Wake Co NC, died in June 1846. His will was probated in Chatham Co NC in the time period of 1846 - 48. He had a son named Andrew Peddy, born 1793. Jeptha Holt was Andrew Peddy's (born 1757) son-in-law.

HOOPER

Edith Rush Masters Hooper age 95 died Thursday December 15 2005 at Jackson General Hospital. She was born in Silerton TN the daughter of the late Henry and Sarah Rush Masters. She graduated from Middleton High School and later Bethel College Cum Laude with a B.S. Degree in Education.   She attended Union University, Freed Hardeman and Memphis State. Mrs. Hooper taught in the Chester County School System for 36 years. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association and a member of the Friendship Baptist Church where she taught the adult women's Sunday School Class for over 30 years. She was affectionately Known by W.M.U. members because of her love for the Women's Missionary Union.   Mrs. Edith served as the Senior Citizen Director for 8 years. She was very active in the Senior Citizens and also a member of the Senior Olympics for 5 years. She was Mrs. Senior Tennessee in 1995. Her hobbies were sewing, needle work, flowers, baking and church work. She is survived by her son, Kenneth Hooper and wife Peggy of Henderson; three grandchildren Kevin Hooper of Henderson Tony Hooper and wife Jennifer of Jackson and Nathan Hooper of Henderson; two great grandchildren Riley Hooper and Cody Hooper; a sister Sue Nelle Hanna of Monroe LA; a sister-in-law Evelyn Hooper Burkhead of Henderson; and three nieces Ann McKay of Dallas TX Patricia Clark of Monroe LA and Sue Ellen West of Shreveport LA. A brother Earl Woodrow Masters preceded her in death. Funeral services December 17 2005 from the Chapel of Leon Johnson Funeral Home with burial to follow in Hickory Grove Cemetery, Silerton, Hardeman County, TN. Leon Johnson Funeral Home Henderson TN

Elizabeth Martha "Bessie or Mattie" Peddy, born Dec 13 1884 at Wildwood , Sumter Co, FL was the daughter of Judge John Wiley Peddy, 1851 and his wife, Elizabeth Harris Peddy. Elizabeth Peddy, 1884 married January 17 1906, Lee C. Hoyl.   She joined the DAR through her ancestor Needham Bryan, 1725 - 1784. Her DAR number was 89227, also see 84991. Levi C HOYL, 1907.     L. C. Hoyle died of pneumonia March 19 1936 at Dawson, Terrell Co, GA. He was the son of L. C. Hoyl, who was an Ordinary of Terrell County about 25 years. He is survived by his wife (Beulah Mathis Hoyl) and his mother, Mattie Elizabeth "Bessie" Peddy Hoyl. Funeral at Dawson Methodist Church with Rev J. Lytle Jones, Elder V. F. Agan, Rev J. S. Davis and Rev W. H. Barnett officiating. Burial was in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Pall bearers were cousins; Theo Peddy, Hill Peddy, Talley Brim, Jack Duskin, Pat Stallings, Ross Collier, Arthur Hamilton and B. W. Hanson of Pensacola FL.
