PEJEPSCOT - Kathleen V. Colby, 76, of Main Street, died Friday, Mar. 4, 2005 at her home.
From 1967 until 1995, Mr. and Mrs. Colby owned and operated Colby's Market on Main Street in Pejepscot.
Surviving besides her husband of Pejepscot are three sons, Ronald Colby and his wife Mia of Old Orchard Beach, Gary Colby of Palm Springs, Calif., and Scott Colby and his wife Terry of Belgrade; a daughter, Gayle Seaman of Minot; three brothers, Mike Chonko and his wife Margaret of Maryland, Emile Chonko and his wife Joanne of South Harpswell, and John Chonko and his wife Lorraine of Topsham; and two sisters, Mary Aderhold and her husband Jim of Maryland, and Dottie Cardali and her husband Edward of Brunswick. Also survived by 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a son, Kevin Colby on Nov. 3, 1988; and a sister, Helen Hobbs.
Visiting hours will be held 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, at Stetson's Funeral Home, 12 Federal St., Brunswick. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 a.m., Thursday, at St. Andrew's Mission Church, Pejepscot. Spring interment will be in Riverview Cemetery Topsham.

TOPSHAM - Kathleen V. Colby, 76, of Main Street, died Friday, March 4, 2005, at her home.
She was born in Pejepscot, Nov. 6, 1928, a daughter of John and Suzie Holan Chonko. She was a 1944 graduate of Brunswick High School.
On Aug. 13, 1949, she married Ronald Colby.
She was a homemaker for several years and was involved with her children's sporting activities.
From 1967 until 1995 she and her husband owned and operated Colby's Market on Main Street in Pejepscot. They were world renown for their famous kolbasi in which each of them maintained half of their secret recipe. They shipped their kolbasi to people all over the world.
She was a member of St. Andrews Mission Church in Pejepscot, where she served as a eucharistic minister. She was involved in town politics and with the Topsham Recreation Department. She was a member of the Jaycees, the Brunswick Emblem Club and the Merrymeeting Seniors Club.

A wedding of interest was that of Miss Donna Colby only daughter of Mr and Mrs
Frank Colby to Jay Christensen of Oasis son of Mr and Mrs Alma Christensen which
was performed Wednesday evening May 26 at her home by Bishop Gardner in the presence
of close friends and relatives. The bride was dressed in a white gown with an
old fashioned nosegay.
The date of the marriage was also the 47th anniversary of the wedding of Mr and
Mrs James H. Colby grandparents of the bride.
A shower was given Friday the 21st at which over seventy five were present during
the afternoon.
