     Thomas Butler was baptized on 22 November 1818 at St Peter Collegiate Church, Wolverhampton, Staffordshire, England.1,2 He was the son of James Butler and Sarah Lear.1 Thomas Butler married Jane Bigford on 9 November 1837 at St Peter Collegiate Church, Wolverhampton, Staffordshire, England; and their marriage was recorded at Wolverhampton Registration district in the December quarter 1837. They were both 19 years of age. He was son of James Butler and she was the daughter of John Bigford.3,4 Thomas Butler appeared on the census of 30 March 1851 at Gravely Hill, Wolverhampton, Staffordshire, England, as Head, married, age 32, birthplace Wolverhampton, Staffordshire, and he was a Brass Cabinet Lock Maker. George Philbrook
     George Philbrook was born in 1837 at Woodham Walter, Essex, England.1 He was the son of John Philbrick and Ann Glasscock.1 George Philbrook appeared on the census of 6 June 1841 at Street, Woodham Walter, Essex, England, as age 4 and he was born in the county.2 He married Jane Kilby on 7 June 1863 at All Saints with St Margaret, Upper Norwood, Lewisham, Surrey, England; and their marriage was recorded at Croydon Registration district in the June quarter 1863. They were married after Banns were read and they were both of Full Age and were from Norwood. She was a Spinster and daughter of Thomas Kilby and he was a Bachelor, Engine Driver, son of John Philbrook.3,4,5 George Philbrook 'travelled from London to Russia to work on gas supply lines.6' He married Clara Bremeyer on 17 April 1887 at St Michael, Camberley, Surrey, England; and Clara Burnell was a widow of 30 years (her son William Burnell born c 1885 lived with the family in 1901 and 1911). Their marriage was recorded at Farnham Registration district in the June quarter 1887. He was a 49 year old widower, Gas Fitter, son of John Philbrook and she was the daughter of Robert Bremeyer, Builder, and both were of Yorktown.7,8,4 George Philbrook was listed as a Wardrobe Dealer in Kelly's London Suburban Directory, 1901. His greatgranddaughter writes: 'Clara and George used to run the wardrobe shop at the Empress Theatre in Earls Court in London.9,10' He died in 1922 at London, England; and his death was recorded at Fulham Registration district in the September quarter 1922.11

     Dr Isaiah Henry Jones M.R.C.S., L.R.C.P., L.S.A. was born on 18 February 1860 at Paddington, London, England; and his birth was registered in the March quarter 1860 at Kensington Registration district.6,1,7,8 He was the son of Edward Abraham Jones and Rosa Jones.1,4 Dr Isaiah Henry Jones M.R.C.S., L.R.C.P., L.S.A. appeared on the census of 3 April 1881 at 53 Maida Vale, Paddington, London, England, as Son, age 21, birthplace Paddington, Middlesex, and he was a Medical Student.6 He was executor to his brother Frederick who left a Will which was proved on 22 August 1910. The following notice appeared in The London Gazette published on the 30 December 1910':

     'Re FREDERICK ISAAC JONES, Deceased. Pursuant to the Statute, 22nd and 23rd Victoria, Chapter 35. NOTICE is hereby given, that all creditors and other persons having any claims or demands against the estate of Frederick Isaac Jones, deceased, late of 199, Maida Vale, in the county of London (a partner in the firm of Boxall and Boxall, Solicitors, of 22, Chancery-lane, London) (who died on the 22nd day of July, 1910, and whose will was proved on the 22nd day of August, 1910, by Dr. Isaiah Henry Jones, the executor therein named), are required to send particulars in writing of their claims or demands to us, the undersigned, Solicitors for the executor, on or before the 30th day of January, 1911, after which date the executor will proceed to distribute the assets of the said deceased amongst the persons entitled thereto, having regard only to the claims and demands of which he shall then have had notice.—Dated this 22nd day of December, 1910.      Alexander John Jones LDS was born on 22 January 1863 at Paddington, London, England; and his birth was recorded at Kensington Registration district in the March quarter 1863.4,1,5,6,7 He was the son of Edward Abraham Jones and Rosa Jones.1,2 Alexander John Jones LDS appeared on the census of 3 April 1881 at 53 Maida Vale, Paddington, London, England, as Son, age 19, birthplace Paddington, Middlesex, and he was a 'Dentist's Pupil.4' He was listed in Post Office London County Suburbs Directory, 1919 as follows: 'North End road, Hampstead, NW9: 19 Jones Alexander John, dentist'; also at this address was his brother Edmund Benjamin Jones.8 He was listed with others in The Bayswater Synagogue 1863-1938 Origin and History as follows:

'Jones Edward Abraham of 53 Maida-vale and of 129 Strand both in Middlesex surgeon-dentist died 3 June 1895 at 53 Maida-vale Probate London 24 June to Rosa Jones widow Isaiah Henry Jones surgeon Arthur Henry Jones surveyor and Frederick Isaac Jones solicitor.7' He was listed as a Solicitor in 'Post Office London Directory, 1899. [Part 2: Street Directory]' in 1899 at 53 Maida Vale, Maida Vale, London, England.8 He died on 22 July 1910 at Berkshire, England, at age 45; '15 Tamuz, 5670' and his address was 199 Maida Vale and 22 Chancery Lane, London; his death was recorded at Windsor Registration district, in the September quarter 1910; information was also published in 'The Jewish Chronicle.9,10,11,12,13,14' He left a will; which was proved on 22 August 1910 by his Brother Dr Isaiah Henry Jones. The following notice appeared in 'The London Gazette Issue 28451 published on the 30 December 1910':

     'Re FREDERICK ISAAC JONES, Deceased. Pursuant to the Statute, 22nd and 23rd Victoria, Chapter 35. NOTICE is hereby given, that all creditors and other persons having any claims or demands against the estate of Frederick Isaac Jones, deceased, late of 199, Maida Vale, in the county of London (a partner in the firm of Boxall and Boxall, Solicitors, of 22, Chancery-lane, London) (who died on the 22nd day of July, 1910, and whose will was proved on the 22nd day of August, 1910, by Dr. Isaiah Henry Jones, the executor therein named), are required to send particulars in writing of their claims or demands to us, the undersigned, Solicitors for the executor, on or before the 30th day of January, 1911, after which date the executor will proceed to distribute the assets of the said deceased amongst the persons entitled thereto, having regard only to the claims and demands of which he shall then have had notice.—Dated this 22nd day of December, 1910. F. 1898 Dec. 12. Jones, Ernest Joel, 54 Maida Vale, W' between 1896 and 1898.7 He died on 14 September 1922 '5682 Ellul 22' and his death was registered at Paddington Registration district in the September quarter 1922, at age 49. She was referred to in Chapter VI Some Bayswater Personalities 1863 / 1963 of 'The History of The Bayswater Synagogue 1863-1963' as follows:

     'We come now to C. J. Jones, who belonged to a family which might be described as "The Walls of Bayswater". There was one sister and nine brothers, of whom today Miss Esther Jones, the sister, and eldest of the family now survives: a sprightly lady in her eighties and another of Bayswater's great characters. Hailing from Kings Lynn they were a family consisting of doctors, dentists and opticians. Two of them, however, were Fellows of the "Surveyors' Institution", the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. British for generations, they united traditional Judaism with a staunch devotion to their native land.9'

She died on 21 February 1965 at England at age 86; and her death was recorded at Hendon Registration district in the March quarter 1965.9,10 Her estate was probated on 11 May 1965; and she was of 6 Heather Gardens, Hendon, Middlesex.11

Leopold Aloysius Matthew Jones was born on 30 March 1879 at Kentish Town, London, England; and his birth was registered in the June quarter 1879 at St Giles Registration District, London.1,4,2,5 He was the son of George Horatio Jones and Louisa Blanche Lucas.1 Lieut. Leopold Aloysius Matthew Jones appeared on the census of 3 April 1881 at 57 Great Russell Street, Bloomsbury, London, England, as Son, age 2, birthplace Kentish Town, Middlesex.1 He was recorded as joining the Army and was made a Second Lieutenant, which was announced in The London Gazette as follows: 'Honourable Artillery Company of London... Militia. Royal Garrison Artillery...Infantry...4th Battalion, the Royal Dublin Fusiliers, Second Lieutenant Leopold Aloysius Jones, from the 1st Tower Hamlets Volunteer Rifle Corps, to be Second Lieutenant' on 22 November 1899.6,7,8 He was photographed it is believed in his Army uniform, the 'tunic and busby [of which] are of Hussar Pattern' at the Studio of E Hawkins and Company, 108 Kings Road, Brighton. However as there is no name or date on the print this identification remains tentative. He served in the South African War 1900-01, attached to 1st Bn. Royal Dublin Fusiliers and employed with the Scottish Horse in the Transvaal (Medal with clasp). Commissioned into Royal Warwickshire Regiment, 4 May 1901, he was appointed to the Indian Army in September 1902 and posted as Double Company Commander, 86th Carnatic Infantry.      Montague Francis Frederick Jones was born in 1880 at Kentish Town, London, England; and his birth was registered in the March quarter 1881 at St Giles Registration district.1,2 He was the son of George Horatio Jones and Louisa Blanche Lucas.1 Montague Francis Frederick Jones appeared on the census of 3 April 1881 at 57 Great Russell Street, Bloomsbury, London, England, as Son, age 3 months, birthplace Kentish Town, Middlesex.1 He married Eva Jeannie Buzian in 1909 at Sussex, England; and their marriage was recorded at Eastbourne Registration district in the September quarter 1909.4 Montague Francis Frederick Jones lived between 1909 and 1911 at Ayteen, Watts Lane, Eastbourne, Sussex, England.5 He was listed in Kelly's Directory of Sussex, 1915 in Eastbourne as:'Jones Montague Francis, artificial teeth maker, 118 Terminus road & 6 Marine Parade' He appears to have made the teeth for his dentist father, who also appeared in this Trade Directory at 118 Terminus road in 1915.6 He was executor of his Father's estate on 26 Mar 1936 and The 1936 National Probate Calendar has the following entry: ''Jones George Horatio of 58 Great Russell-street Bloomsbury Middlesex died 30 June 1932 at 7 Carlyle-gardens Chadwell St Mary Tilbury Essex Administration London 26 March to Montague Francis Jones dental practitioner.3'

He died on 9 October 1943 at Devon, England; and his death was recorded at Tiverton Registration district in the December quarter 1943.7,3 His estate was probated; and The 1943 National Probate Calendar records he was of 'Brambles Bolham Tiverton Devonshire' and died at 'The Hospital Tiverton Probate Exeter 21 October to Robert Langton-Jones retired commander R.N.3'
