  • Also known as Capt. Isaac Williams.4,5,6,7
  • Isaac Williams moved to the western part of Cambridge Village, now Newton, about 1660. He took down the house that had been built there and built another one near the original house lovation; Isaac's house was torn down in 1818. He was a weaver, a Captain, a Selectman, and Representative 1692, 1695, 1697, 1699, 1701 and 1705.There was quite a family argument over his will which confirmed his conveyance of March, 1704 to his youngest son Ephraim, then 12 years old, of his house and virtually all of his land. This was perceived as an injustice by the other children, especially those of his first marriage, as a considerable amout of that land had come to Isaac from his first father-in-law, William Park. After Isaac's death, the Probate Judge set aside the will and an agreement was reached among all the children. In March, 1708, sons Isaac, Eleazer and Ephraim took all their father's land in Newton, 500 acres, paying and providing for the other children, per the agreement, which also provided for laying out of 2 or 3 highways through the land. Isaac was buried under arms by the Company of Foot Feb. 14, 1707.
