- He married Mercy Frary at Ashfield, Franklin Co., Massachusetts, on 8 November 1790 by the Congregational Minister.1,3
- David Karr died on 18 December 1812 at Niagara Co., New York; then aged 57 of a prevailing epidemic.3
- Also known as David Carr.2
- He was a Revolutionary War soldier. An application for a Revolutionary War pension, states that while a resident of Ashfield, Franklin Co., Massachusetts, he enlisted in Capt. Mellen's Company, Massachusetts Regt. He served with Arnold at Quebec, and at Bennington and Stillwater. His service ended in 1780. in 1776.4
- David Karr moved to at Saratoga Co., New York, in 1788 and afterwards to Rome, Oneida Co., New York. In about 1797 or 1798 he moved to Ernestown, near Kingston, Upper Canada (now Ontario) and from there to Hamilton Township, United Counties of Northumberland and Durham, where they lived until 1806 when they moved to Niagara County, New York.3
- The home of Capt. David Karr in Nigara County was destroyed during the War of 1812.3
- On 4 April 1853 Mercy Crandall, the only surviving child of David Carr and his wife Mercy, applied for the pension which was due her mother on the account of the service of David Carr during the Revolutionary War. Mercy resided at Haldeman Township, Ontario, Canada at the time. Her application gives the names of the children of David and Mercy Carr.3

On 27 Feb 1833, Jonathan Carr, aged 76, a resident of Le Ray, Jefferson County, New York applied for a pension based upon his service during the Revolutionary War. As a resident of the town of Ashfield, Massachusetts, he enlisted as a minuteman in the company of Capt. Smith, in a Regt. commanded by Col. Ward. On the 21st or 22nd of April 1775 he marched to Cambridge, served in the "Army of the United States," and was stationed there until after the Battle of Bunker Hill. His application was accepted.5

Ferris, Ottawa; Mrs. Emma Welton, Colorado Springs; Mrs. Mary L. Connelly and Mrs. Nettie M. Christie, Pontiac, Mich.; Mrs. Hazel R. Allison, Princeton and Miss Grace Brewer of the home; two sons, William H. Brewer, Aurora, Ill. and Ross E. Brewer, Lane; 13 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. Mrs. Ora L. Farren of Osawatomie and Mrs. Elsie Saltzman of Greeley are half sisters, Mrs. S. M. Brewer of Greeley, his stepmother. He was a member of the Methodist Episcopel church and of the Lane Granges.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Baker church, conducted by Rev. A.A. Vansickle, director of religious education, Haskell Institute, Lawrence. Burial was in Baker Cemetery".
