In 1778 Harpersfield (then in Montgomery Co.) extended all the way down the Susquehanna River to the Pennsylvania line. The town of Kortright was formed from Harpersfield in 1793. It extended to the Susquehanna but was bounded on the south by the town of Franklin, and after 1800 by the new town of Meredith. In 1797 Delaware County was formed from parts of Ulster and Montgomery Counties. In 1817 the town of Davenport was created from the western portion of Kortright and a southernmost section of Maryland adjoining the Charlotte (Johnson) Patent. In 1817 Davenport extended to the Susquehanna and down to Franklin. After 1822 the northern section became part of Otsego County (itself created in 1791). For more details see "Davenport's Population" by Alan M. Strout for the Davenport Historical Society, online (see footnote for link). Also see the Wikipedia article on Otsego County.18

  • Elizabeth Brouwer witnessed the baptism of Jan Bennet , son of Jurian Bennet and Jannetje Brouwer, on 7 November 1756 at Reformed Dutch Church, New York City, New York, (sponsors de vader [the father], Elizabeth Brouwer, h.v. Jakob Brouwer [an error for Jacob Bennet, Elizabeth being the child's grandmother]).4
  • Elizabeth Brouwer witnessed the baptism of Jacob Bennet , son of Johannes Bennet and Elizabeth Van Pelt, on 29 October 1758 at Reformed Dutch Church, New York City, New York, (sponsors Jakob Bennet, Elizabet Brouwer, z.h.v.).5
  • Ledley (NYGBR 95:24, Gen. of the Bennet Family) identifies Jacobus Bennet's wife, Elizabeth Brouwer, as Elizabeth daughter of Nicholas Brouwer and Jannetje Caljer. This is an error, as Nicholas Brouwer's daughter Elizabeth clearly married John Parcell, with the sponsors for some of their children being members of the Nicholas Brouwer-Jannetje Caljer family. It is apparent from the appearance of Abraham Brouwer, Jr. as a sponsor for this couple's daughter, Elizabeth in 1727, that Elizabeth, wife of Jacobus Bennet, is actually the daughter of Abraham Brouwer and Cornelia Caljer.
