about 4 am. Started toward Hatcher's Run. Deployed skirmishers; about 4 pm attacked Confederate works. Made charge, which was repulsed. Sixth Corps mistakenly fired on command. Lt William H Frailey wounded. Capt George P Finney captured. Colors saved only by sgt Thomas Devereux (C) stripping from staff and hiding them on himself. Command then returned to camp near Hatcher's Run.
